Skin Care Basics - Step 3 - Polish/Exfoliators

Facial polishes and exfoliators offer a variety of benefits for your skin, including:

  • Smoother, brighter complexion: By removing dead skin cells on the surface, these products reveal the newer, fresher cells underneath. This can make your skin look smoother, brighter, and more radiant.

  • Reduced breakouts: Dead skin cells and dirt can clog pores, leading to breakouts. Exfoliation helps to keep pores clear, which can help prevent spots and blackheads.

  • More even skin tone: Exfoliation can also help to even out your skin tone by reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation (dark spots) and other blemishes.

  • Better product absorption: When the top layer of your skin is clear of dead cells, other skincare products, like moisturisers and serums, can penetrate deeper and be more effective.

  • Reduced signs of aging: Exfoliation can also help to stimulate collagen production, which can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

However, it's important to choose the right exfoliator for your skin type and to use it correctly. Over-exfoliation can irritate the skin, so be gentle and don't scrub too hard.
